What does Fast User Switching Mean?
Fast user switching is a characteristic Microsoft implemented within Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional which allows users to switch between users. It allows applications to remain open and in exactly the condition, despite someone new in. This enables the preceding user to contact their tasks.
Windows enables users to have their profile. These profiles are password protected, and other details and their preferences, files are installed to meet with each individual user’s needs. Setting up profiles enables users to share one computer. There is frequently a delay when logging in and from accounts that are different. That is where fast user switching comes in.
Fast users switching enables multiple users to be logged in simultaneously and switch between their open accounts while other programs are running and network connections are preserved.
