HTML

Short for Hyper Text Markup Language, HTML is the authoring language used in the creation of documents for the World Wide Web.

While purists may still insist on writing web pages in HTML from scratch, most authors turn to software applications such as Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver that make it easier to write the underlying HTML of web pages by providing a simple document authoring experience.
